Transmission: TH-700R4
Axle/Gears: GM Axles and GM 3.73
is my rear end a 2 series or 3 series carrier?
its a 1984 3.73 one whee wonder
if you cant predict, then what would i have to do to b able to find out what it is?

My guess is it's a 3 series carrier since 3.23 or higher gears in a 10 bolt are 3 series. I'm not sure though, someone correct me if that's not right.

If it's the stock rear and gears, it should be a 3 series carrier.
you might have a worn out posi unit in there too.

yah i had the cover off when i had to replace a rear bearing......its a one legged wonder 
and the reason why im asking is cuz on www.slponline.com they have posi's for $100......so i was gonna get some 28 spline axles and get that posi and get it put in there.........
