9 Bolt or 10 Bolt??

Ok, I currently just had my 83 TA totaled, and bought an 86 TA and am currently swapping parts. The rear in my 83 is a 10 Bolt 3.23 locking posi rear. The rear in my 86 is a 9 bolt 3.27 limited slip rear. I can have 3.73 gears put into my 10 bolt for $200, so I don't konw wether it'd be a better deal to go with the 10 bolt and have 3.73's, or go with the 9 bolt and stay and the 3.27. I've had great sucess with the locker, and a friend of mine blew a limited slip out (and by blew, I mean BLEW) with his 305! So I don't konw which is better to use and which is stronger, I will be pushing about 425 HP BTW. Thanks.

Keep the 9 Bolt it is tons stronger, but more $$$$$ to up grade or repair.

I just talked to my mechanic (who's going to be putting the 3.73's in) and he said go with the 10 bolt cuz it's easier to find parts for and that the 9 bolts are crappy. What else do u guys think?

The 9-bolts are stronger then the 10-bolts for sure. My 9-bolt broke with a stock engine though. I don't think they are as strong as everyone says they are but if you have a fully working 9-bolt now, then use the 9-bolt.
