Can this cause damage?

Was just thinking today while driving home about the tq converter and its function. My TC stalls at 6/700RPM, thats about where my car idles in gear, constant stall condition cant be good. How much damage can this cause and why are high stall 27 spline converters soo expensive?

700rpm stall? That seems a little low... are you sure?

I dont think they make a stall that low?? Do they? Or did you mean 1,700. That would be about right for stock. Maybe you have an issue with the lockup solenoid or its wiring.
