stall converter

have a 1990 camaro rs with a 305 tbi. the motor was just rebuilt with:
Competition Cam 08-302-8
.05" Duration 210/220
1.5:1 Lift .480/.480
1.6:1 Lift.512/.512
Lobe Sep 112deg
i wanted to know what stall converter would work best?

From: working at a horse farm, gonna go to somerset county tech. inst. in january.
Car: 87 GMC sierra classic
Engine: fresh 350, minor mods (its been de-emissioned too)
Transmission: professionally re-built 700R4, REALLY hard shifts & bigger clutch packs
it partially depends on what kind of driving the car will be seeing, but i think around 2000 should be good.

i want it so i can drive it every day 26miles to work each way but thats mostly high way
but i also want it to be good for stop light to stop light racing

What rpm is the engine at while driving down the highway?

i don't rember what rpm it was running at on the high way.
there web site says the rpm operating range is 1200 to 5400
so would it be ok to put a 2000 stall converter on it or would 2400 be better. i don't know alot about this stuff
