U-Joint Part #'s
Ok so I got an aluminum driveshaft out of a 2000 camaro 3" in diamater. The sticker reads Three Rivers #12564003 AU #00001742. I went to have the U-Joints replaced & was told that they are special u-joints due to the driveshaft being aluminum. They were having a hard time finding the U-Joints that would fit it properly. So I went to a GM dealer & had them look up the part # they said the part # was 12471502 changed it to part # 12479126. After looking @ the new u-joints which were $85.00 apiece it didn't have the nylon rings around then like the ones that were on the old u-joints. I'm just wondering if anyone knew the correct part#'s for the replacement U-Joints. Do the have to have those nylon rings on them??? Thanks in Advance

I got one for mine at Advance Auto. I had to get a front u-joint to get the one that fit. It happened to be the same part number as the one for my '84 K5 Blazer. It was a Brute Force, solid non-greasable type. $8 IIRC.
