Hmmm, usually changing fluid is good...

But after a few weeks i have noticed, and yes the fluid level is correct and not of a strange color, that first gear will only happen when comming from a dead stop at WOT and then if i rolled at all it will stick to second and that second and third are shifting sooner and won't kick down were they used too. For instance 3rd would kick down to 2nd if i went WOT at about 65mph-70mph (speedo is probably a bit off, maybe 5mph) and plop down give some nice punch for a few seconds and then go into a very happy 3rd gear power range. Used to be that 1st would kick in at anything under 25mph or so, no problems, now i have to manually shift it. Over all the think seems to be shifting at the correct (factory spec) shift points, but the kick down is bothering me. Oh and yes i have adjusted the TV cable. I will probably mess with it again in a few days, but i don't hold much hope. This is a stock L03 700r4 2.73 open diff RS. Its annoying because i went to do a burn out and got em spinning then went off the brake and she immediatly stopped spinning and started creeping were she used to just spin up to about 1-2 shift and go on with life.

If your trans is near death and you change the fluid, it might nudge the trans closer to it's end. Supposedly, the old fluid has tons of friction material floating around in it that helps the old worn-out clutches grab. (1st and 3rd gear have their own set of clutches, 2nd and 4th share one band.) How's your TV cable? How was the old fluid (color/smell/feel)?

ive often heard of a fluid change sending a 700r-4 to its death, especially if the old fluid was burned up and black

Actually the old fluid was clean and clear up until the last day it was in there. No problems. As for my TV cable its been adjusted several times (reread the article just to make sure i got it right) and its all in place. I am just gonna have to take it easy. I mean she seems to shift at the correct factory points so i think its actually better to some extent but something else has to have happened. Then again it got warmer shortly after i got the fluid changed and it may just be me getting used to it. I will keep an eye on it and come back if anything happens.

Feel free to offer up other ideas though if you have em.

did you run the tranny thru all the gears sitting still before driving it? try to run it from park to L1 and back up again. that might get it to shift right again

Actually last night it seemed to be running perfectly. I was wondering though, is if its possible that my throttle cable could be a bit out of adjustment and when i think i am going wide open its actually going too far or not far enough? It seems that just short of WOT is getting more accel than hitting it to the floor.
