89' 5speed in 80 camaro??

Just wondering if it would work, this tranny is the one with the hydraulic clutch, and he has the z-bar type? will the linkage go through the hole for the slave cylinder or no?

i think he said he had a 3speed in it, but its a v8 so i doubt it,

if its the 4 speed b/w will the trans bolt up to that bell housing?

thanks,

Joel

He can use an 83 f-body V8 bell & 83 V8 fork or lakewood fork. Or he can use a Lakewood bell which will mount it canted also. This will allow it to use his current mech. linkage.

While he could use his mech. linkage with the 84-92 bellhousing, the release would be very quick and the car would be stiff to drive in traffic, especially from a stop.

He might have had a 3spd saginaw. His driveshaft will need shortened 2.92' or so. His current slip yoke will work. His speedo cable should hook right up to it if it's setup with mech. gears, not electric style.
