T-5 rebuild discussion...

2nd gear synchro is gone... I need new synchros it seems. Is it hard to replace? Do I have to drop the tranny? Whats involved? Are there other bearings and stuff that should be replaced while im in there? How long does it usually take?

Yes you have to drop the trans and completely disassemble it.

Here is a link to a recent post on a T5 that will answer a lot of your questions. After reading this post if you need more info, let me know and I'll be glad to help you.

If you want to do a search on this subject there is a ton of info here about T5's. After doing a search and reading all the posts about T5's, you will most likely become a T5 expert since there is so much info on them here.

Type in T5* for the search. You have to have at least 3 characters for the search function to work, and the * will work to do this.
