My daughters 92 RS

Hey Guys. I git my daughter a 92 RS, with a 305, and an auto. It's a really sharp ride. Anyway, The tranny changes into overdrive at 38mph or so. Sometimes it changes 4 or 5 times within a 5 seconds or so. Like it does'nt know what gear it wants to be in. I started to put it in drive until I get to 45 mph or so. Runs great until I put it in O.D.. It will still jump back and forth many times in just a few seconds. Even at 55mph it will do it. It does'nt matter what the terrian type flat or hilly. I have tried more times than I can count to try to let up or give it more gas in an attempt to allow it to stay in one of the two gears to no avail. Hot or cold it does'nt seem to matter. Everyone who rides in it ask me whats wrong. Other than the annoyance it seems fine. Even under full accelleration. My daughter gets her drivers liscence in about a 6 weeks. I got a little while. I'm just trying to make sure its right before she gets it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Randy

Dumb question but, did you check the tanny fluid? How about the TV cable? Just a thought. Good luck-Jeff

Also sounds like it could be the lock-up clutch going in and out. Might be a wire problem or a bad torque converter, bad trany valve body ... I could go on. Good luck- Jeff
