rear end ID help

I have a rearend in my 69 Camaro that looks like it might be from a later generation camaro. It has disc brakes and its a 10 bolt. The only numbers I have found on it are 5PV G229 1.These are on the passenger side axle tube facing front.Anyone recognize the code? So far I haven't found any axle codes that start with a 5.

The best place to start would be what type of 10 bolt is it: 8.2, 8.5, 7.5, 7 5/8...it could be any of the above, though 8.2 or 8.5 are most likely. To figure out which it is, go to :

They show the pattern there to help identify which housing it is. Pull the cover and count the teeth for an accurate count of the ring and pinion teeth.

For example, if the pinion has 10 teeth and the ring has 41, you have 4.10 gears.

Is there any evidence that the rear might have had a different spring setup on it, such as a 4 link style, or that it may have come from a 3rd or 4th gen (torque arm mounting holes on the drivers side of the pinion area)? That will give you a clue also.
