Spohn crossmember with ds safety loop problems
I'm currently swapping engines. The moter mounts are secure as is the crossmember. But now the safetly loop is hitting the drive shaft! It was really close to rubbing before with the old engine. I have dropped the crossmember and tried to reposition it the best I could but still no luck. This thing is really frustrating. Even if I could move it over, the loop would run into the torque arm, as it's pretty much resting on it right now.
I think the reason it's not fitting this time is because I am using a poly tranny mount, as the rubber one just couldn't handle the stress, I think mainly due to the torque arm being mounted to the crossmember. Anyways, the poly mount is slightly taller than the rubber one, and just enough to create a problem. I have tried pounding the loop into better position, but to no prevail. I think I'm just going to have to cut it off

i put some small washers under the crossmember on my car to lower the trans just a hair when i put the poly mount in.
also, there is a thread in the aftermarket review board, and spohn explaines the problem, and the solution! you shoudl go check it out.

I'll check it out! Thank you. Hopefully I can keep the safety loop.
