Well my T/A is running fine so this weekend is time to fix my buddys jeepus. When driving down the road it'll run allright till it shifts then the rpms go up for a few seconds n then its like it finaly catches. It will do this threw each gear. Im not too fimiliar with the vehicle. its a 86 Jeep Charokee with a 2.8 n automatic tranny.

 

RPM flare between shifts, it probably needs a basic overhaul, though you can try changing the fluid and filter first...........................oh,and just so everyone else knows AMC/Jeep were idiots, yes, that truck has a chevy 2.8 v6, carbed, with a chrysler 904 trans behind it

 

i ahd a 79 jeep truck. it had 360 chrysler with ford carb and ignition, gm charging and starting system, th400 trans with dana rears. jeeps are bastards anyway you look at it.

as for you problem it may be something as simple as needing a filter change or low on fluid.

forums, tech sites, and mailing lists. Like mentioned already, it could be as simple as a fluid/filter change, or, it may need
an overhaul.
