Things I need to know about getting a tranny from a junkyard.
Im getting a tranny from a junkyard to go into my 82 Trans Am.Theres a TH350 in there now so Im going to stick with that. I need to know what size output shaft I need. and if all TH350's have the holes for the support arm thats attached to the rearend (sorry dont know what thats called) . And is there anything else I need to know to be well informed. thanks for any help.

If you have a th350, it's been swapped in. It came with a th200c tranny. If you do indeed have a th350(that someone put in), then you need to measure the tailshaft(housing) to be sure what was installed. 6 inch tailshaft would be the most common, since that would be basicly a bolt-in install to replace the th200c. You may need the B&M kit to install the torque arm bracket--th350's don't have holes for the torque arm--if you still have a th200c.
It was originally a TH200. So it must be a 6 in ch tail shaft because it all fits accordingly. The TH350 thats in there now has holes for the tourqe arm though. Will I be able the find a new one with the same holes. if not what are my options .

Never seen a th350 with torque arm holes. Probably because the th350 wasn't available on 3rd gen f-bodies. Are you sure it's not some type of an adapter that is bolted to the tranny, or the tranny pan says 'metric' on it? Does the tranny have any wires plugging into it? If it is some really rare th350 with holes for the torque arm mount, just swap the tailshaft housing. Oh, and if tailshaft housing can't be removed(all one piece), then it isn't a th350.
