700 R4 bolt up to V-6?

I have a 1988 2.8 V-6 that I was going to buy a new long block for. I have been told that I can get a 3.4 long block and bolt the 2.8 intake ect to it and it should work. Will the 700 R4 transmission in my 1988 bolt up to a later model 3.4 block and will the computer ect work the same. Thanks for any help as we are at the point where we need to buy the long block and move on. thanks alot

bellhousing from v6

the 2.8L 60-degree V6 has the same bellhousing pattern as the 3.1L, and the 3.4L V6. It'll be a easy swap!
