Has anyone done a T56 swap on a stock L98?
Will a T56 perform any better than a 700R4 on a stock L98? I plan to mod the motor some, but I think I'm going to need to do the Tranny swap first as the 700R4 is getting there, if you know what I mean.

i did the swap. i guess technically it "performs" worse especially off the line due to shallower gearing, but you can just compensate that with steeper gears in the rear.

82blue did the swap to an L03 305 TBI motor. it actually ran good! not fast, but good. he then changed the gears to 3.73 (motive) and now its still not fast but it still runs good. hehe.
let put it this way. before i was in his car, i didnt care about T-56s i just wanted a nice 700R4. after i went around with him, im dead set on getting a T-56 for my car, no matter what. theres nothing like it.

Back why I had the stock 350 in the car, I did the headers and T-56 swap at the same time and it woke that baby up, even with 3.23's!!!
