Why doesnt this work in my Formula?

Can anyone tell me why the B&M megashifter does not workin my 88 Formula 350? I want an aftermarket shifter but it says it doesnt work, i have seen it on a few sites in other 88-92 Formulas so then how did they get it to work? I dont wanna spend the money and not be able to do it, if anyone knows of how to get the shifter to work lemme know, or recommend a good shifter that will fit.

ok man.... first of all what sort of tranny does your car have... (probably a 700R4, or a Th700)... if you don't know .. AND it's stock... write down your VIN number ... and on the opening page of thirdgen.org... click on VIN decoder... that'll tell you what tranny you have... unless you already know, which is cool too... and then look up the shift Kit for that ... not the car
Good Luck

i have a 700r4 tranny, no shift kit, i was thinkin about one but ive heard more bad things than better about puttin them in somewhat daily driven cars. I just wanted an aftermarket shifter. The car is not stock, its a formula 350 with 10k on a completely rebuilt motor with headwork, comp cam, headers, full exhaust and the other 3rd gen mods we all do.
