Will LS1 Driveshaft fit a 3rd Gen?

I just picked up an aluminum driveshaft from a 2001 LS-1 Camaro. It is 1/2" shorter than my stock steel one. Will it still work, or will there be problems with leak, tailcone stress, and flutter? Do I need to use the LS-1 slip joint (it is longer than my 3rd gens)? Thanks for any help.

yes, it will work, the longer slip-yoke makes up for the slightly shorter shaft, all drive shafts from 82-02 interchange, with the exception of the early 3 speed auto and 4 speed manual cars

I can confirm that. I have an LS1 shaft in my '91.
