Pro-Built Trans-Go Reprogramming Kit

Dana,

I have a 1990 IROC-Z (350 - 700R4) and was thinking about ordering your Trans-Go Reprogramming Kit (Performance Shift Kit) item #700 012 with the 1-2 Accumulator Kit. I was wondering exactly what the entire kit includes?

-Thanks

I'm still not sure on which to get. How exactly will my car shift with the regular transgo performance kit versus Dana's "custom" kit? I'm kinda confused on how a reputable company like trango can't produce a shift kit that shifts "right." I am very interested in hearing feedback from people who have installed the normal transgo kit versus people who have installed the probuilt transgo kit. Which is better and why and what exactly is different between the 2?

I think part of your choice would depend upon what is currently in the transmission now. If you already have the 'Vette servo and larger boost valves you wouldn't need those. Dana's kit is more of a complete setup to improve all aspects of the transmission.

I installed one of Dana's full kits in my '92. Shifts great, less filling (oh wait) shifts great and gets progressively firmer as the shifts take place with additional throttle (the accumulator setup).

One of the benefits of the performance kit is how the trans is reprogrammed. And it may take a little relearning because of how well the trans now shifts. The is also true of downshifts. When the lever is moved it downshifts _now_. So don't move the lever, and wait for it to shift before hitting the go pedal.

My only regret was that I didn't install this the day I bought the car.

RBob.

Right now the trans in my 92 is completely stock. Which would you recommend?

If your 700R4 iscompletelystock then get the probuilt transgo kit. It has more stuff.
