700R4 + shiftkit?

Hey, i am getting ready to get my transmission rebuilt. i called a transmission shop and asked him about shift kits. He said not to put one in a 700R4, that it was too bad for them and would tear them up. also would void the warranty. but said i could use a corvette servo. What do you guys think?

I reccomend a 2400 stall and a shift kit. Shift kits are actually better for the trans. Also get a trans cooler. That is what I have and it shifts nice and firm when I get on it.

Transmission: The kind that shifts....
I haven't read anything to say that shift kits are bad. I mean Pro-built-Automatics puts them in practically every tranny they build, so it must be good for something. They wouldn't want to sell a un-reliable product becasue its bad for business.

I want a shift kit, but I'm saving for a Geforce T-5 manual swap into my L98 GTA. I want a manual!!!

If you need a new transmission and you want a good one, you may want to check out the ones from www.Pro-Built.net. I don't know what kind of prices you have been quoted for your rebuild but the ones I got were almost as much as the Pro-Built but they were only building it back to stock.(no shift kit, no servo, no nothing).
