Not shifting into 3rd at WOT??
Went to the track last night, and after my first pass, the tranny would not shift into 3rd at full throttle. I would have to let out of it before it would shift, then I could get back into it. Anyone have ideas or have experienced this???

Many people say that it is a sign that the tranmission is about to go, but I disagree. I currently have one in my possesion that I'm investigating, and its NOT the 3-4 clutches. If the 3-4 clutches were worn, it would shift, but slip. These "no 2-3" transmissions simply won't shift. If I find out soon, I'll let you know what I found.

I've got the same problem with me car luckily i caught the problem street racing(on a country road at 1:00 am) and not at a strip after paying 10 bucks to get in. Anyway i ordered a shift kit from www.pro-built.net and its described as
This Shift kit corrects many of the problems that have plagued the 700R4. With this kit, we include the Corvette servo, .471 Main boost valve & .296 Intermediate/Reverse boost valve. This combination gives the 700R4 the needed capacity (holding power) that is required to make this a Heavy Duty transmission.
Corrects/Reduces/Prevents:
3-4 clutch failure.
Late or no 4th gear.
2-3 cutloose (spinup).
Soft, bang or slide bump 1-2 shift.
TV cable will not adjust properly.
I'm hoping that this will fix my/our problem. I ordered it April 23rd and am still waiting for it to come in 7 working days later, just emailed them wondering whats going on. PM me in a week and I'll tell you if it worked or not.
I'm not sure how bad yours is but if i give the car between 3/4 and 7/8's throttle it will still go into third w/o any problems. If you can stand letting off some about halfway through second it's actually almost standable.

Yes Im curious to see what you find I think my tranny is gone after the track last night. I have to rev up to about 5-6k then let back to get into second and thats it. No third. Any suggestions on a 700R4 to handle over 600 HP... I also have nitrous up to 300 HP.
