this is a ? for all of you that have done complete rebuilds or might know stuff about it. I have my trans pulled now and in the process of getting the money together ( money for parts, know someone that will do it for free ) But after talking to some ppl that know about that kind of stuff, sounds like i might of broken some hard parts in there. i wasnt hitting on it at the time, but when the tranny went "bye bye" it just practicly lost all gear, i was at 3500 rpm and barly moving. now that it's sat for a few months, i started the car and put it in gear just to see what would happen..and it made a whinning sound in rev and drive gears. and it would inch in either direction and not budge more then that. not too good

So anyone know what the cost is and where i can get any of the hard parts and internals i might need to buy for a stock and possibly the same for a performance rebuild? not sure what's broken yet, but i rather find out how much i'll possibly need.

 

I would get a core from a local salvage yard if the damage is major. Check out www.bulkpart.com. I have dealt with them,
and the parts and prices are good. They got my order shipped
quickly, too. They carry pump gears, thrust washer kits, bushing
kits, but no governor gears! Your local tranny shop should have one, though.
