Driveshaft safety loop custom job

I know I can get a Jegs loop for dirt cheap ($35) and they're just down the road from where I live BUT I don't like the way it mounts. I like Spohn's loop but $75 is a bit high for a college student.
Here is my idea. Torque arm mounted loop. The loop would mount with 4 bolts in the torque arm. The arm moves parallel to the driveshaft so it's highly unlikely that it would hit.
Is it in the rules somewhere that this isn't good enough?

Doesn't the loop have to be rigidly mounted? If its on the TA, then it'll be moving. And what if the TA was to break? Just some thoughts.

Hmm...
Some interesting points. In a unibody not much of the body is "ridged" in comparison to other parts of the body. It's not like we've got a real frame to work with. Also the TA moves but it would be moving in the direction of the driveshaft. The TA doesn't move really, it just pivots up at the mount.
If the TA broke then the driveshaft would save it and vise versa. That's the beauty of using a loop attached to the TA .
I plan on building my own torque arm soon so I figured this would be an experiment for the stock arm.

the jegs loop doesn't come close to working or fitting with out a lot of changes. i'd buy some flat steel abd bend it and weld where i needed to make a loop, or short piece of pipe if you can find it without having to buy a full 20' piece to get an inch

My concern would be if that would be NHRA legal tho.
