Hey, how can you tell what spline axles you have? Don't they make That one $100 posi for both 26 and 28 spline axles.
Thanks

1989 was the year GM switched from 26 to 28 spline, but I beleive it was late '89. SLP sells a USED posi called a Zexel Torsen Limited Slip for $100 that was removed from Z28s and Trans Ams during the SS/Firehawk conversions. They only come in 28 splines.

Ok, will i have a 82 z28, its supposed to have stock 2.73 gears. I did that driveshaft test and it showed 3.23 It is a peg leg rear. It would cost me $200 to get posi, is it worth it? How much will I gain? Also, how do you tell what spline axles you have? Thanks

Pull out an axle and count the splines. You probably have 26 spline axles if the rear is stock. My friend went with an Auburn Posi on his 82 T/A but that posi was more than $300.
