Whats the difference in crossmembers from 82-83 and on

I would like to get a different tranny in my 82 to replace the 200C. I was wondering what the difference in crossmembers are because I am thinking of buying the kit from thirdgen resource.

The crossmember mounts in a different place in the 82 frame, from where it goes in the 83 up cars. That body does not have the correct holes for the 700 / T-5 crossmember. So the later part will not bolt directly into the 82 car. However, it's not too hard to install the correct bolt holes.

So drilling is all that would be required?

Pretty much. Then you need to hold a nut behind the sheet metal, or tack-weld one on there behind the hole, or something.
