How are you trashing rears like that in a 14˝-second automatic car with a stock converter?

The rear in these cars is identical in every way to the ones in the LS1 4th gens, except that the 4th gens have a different brand of posi carrier, and the 4th gen axles are longer. The gears are identical; the center section is identical (except that the 4th gens have an extra hole drilled & tapped for ABS); the axles are the same diameter; the bearings are the same part numbers; the suspension all around it is the same.... and the factory gives a 5/50,000 or whatever it is warranty on it, and it's almost a 12-second car off the showroom floor.

You could buy a 9-bolt or a 9" or a 12-bolt or something, but it sounds to me like you need to solve some other issue first.

What is happening to them?

i like to do holeshots, i don't do standstills or dounuts.
the orginal one (where it all started)
#1- a bad wining was occuring a speeds in excess of 45mph and getting worse as speed increased. so it was rebuilt with new bearning, new springs, clutch packs, discs.
#2- bad gasket= no gear lube, thus creating heat and breaking springs and other stuff. so the whole thing was rebiult and put back in
#3- c clip broke and having a drum rear maks this happen(see pic below)
#4 rear will be the last rear and thus making me a happy guy- i'm looking at a moser 12 bolt- if thhat doesn't do it. maybe i'll go to a honda so i can break halfshafts all day

Replace the housing it is probably bent is or out of spec somewhere a friend of mine fourth gen went though six rebuilds while he had it and one prior before he replaced the whole thing.
