tranny out, shift kit?
tranny out, shift kit?
im pulling my tranny later this week to change my torque convertor and flexplate. i figured that it would be a great time to install a shift kit, so that i dont have to do it from under a car. the only thing is that i am very confused by them. ive never seen inside a th-400, let alone any chevy automatic. are these installs pretty straight forward? any advice to make it easier would be great. thanks

ive heard a few people did them, and the ones that did said it was pretty straightforward but you have to take your time. i think most average around 3-5 hours.
and then there are some that recommend just letting a shop do it.
so basically, i dont know
mixed opinions, but i remember one guy saying he didnt know anything about trannies and he did it
if you have the tools, i say go for it...but dont blame me if you screw it up somehow

I put a transgo-shift kit in my 700r and I didn't know a thing about trannies, still don't really. It only took me about 4 hours from start to finish. Just take your time, read the instructions, and watch the video several time before you start. Transgo ships video and paper instructions.
