alright from what i've read it seems my tranny(700r4) aint too long for this road (85,000+ miles). What i want to do, and makes sense in my mind is to go to the boneyard, find a beat to nothing 700r4, order the pro-built rebuild kit and replace all the garbage inside the junk one with all the nice new stuff, and swap the tranny's over the next weekend? I say this b/c it's my daily driver, and i want time to do the rebuild right. I figure that a 700r4 shell is just that, a shell, and that no matter how bad the boneyard one is it'll be great with the rebuild..or is there something im missing

Thanks
Josh

well as long the holes aren't stripped or the case cracked it should be too bad. the case can eventually wear out but i believe they make oversize parts for some of the parts in the trans. if you do get a case, get a 88+ case. those are better designed than the previous years.
