700-R4 switch to corvette servo/govenor???
700-R4 switch to corvette servo/govenor???
i read in GMHPM that a quick way to improve the shifts in 3rd gen 700-R4's is to swap out the govenor w/one from a vette. in some of the posts i've seen it recommended to swap out the servo. do you need to perform both? if not which is preferrable?
the tranny is origional w/less than 5k on it, would like firmer, quicker shifts, but do not want a race tranny and i am not overly keen on shift kits at this time.
comments would be appreciated.

If you have a Z-28, and it shifts at WOT at 5,200 (apx). then going to a Corvette governor will most likely make the WOT shifts later. Going to a Corvette servo will firm up the 1-2 & 2-3 shift.

I have the vette servo and govoner in my 700!!!Doesn't cost a lot to swap them out and well worth it. Just wish I could do something with the 3-4 shift! It works good!!
