quick question
quick question
I see several posts that may address this but I wasn't sure it what everyone else was calling 'slipping' is what I was thinking.
Sometimes when my car (with a 700r4) goes into second it almost acts like a manual tranny with the clutch going out. The engine revs but the tranny doesn't seem fully engaged. Is this what you guys are calling slipping?
If so I'll start with a TV adjustment and change the fluid. Hopefully I don't need a rebuild.

If your tranny seems like it is slipping, do NOT CHANGE THE FLUID! That's about the worst thing you can do. (I can vouch personally for this....) Typically changing the ATF in an auto can finish off a dying transmission. Try adjusting the TV cable and make sure your fluid level is okay. If it's low, add a LITTLE BIT at a time until you're within operating range. Just remember that the fluid level is going to be higher if it's warmed up than when it's cold.
