Seems like its the way to go and alot of people recomend it so I will be removing the checkball to install my new Vig. The question is what exactly do I need to do to get it out of the input shaft. I can see it in the front of the shaft and its being held in place by what appears to be a "star" looking clip. I have also heard that other parts come out as well when the checkball is removed like a spring. I have a new oring on the input shaft.

If anyone can point me to a step by step process that would be great, if not I am hoping one of the big dogs might be able to enlighten me.
