my transmition came out of a 87 trans am and i need to know if it is the age that is making is stick. i have put everything known to man in it to ifx it but it still won't work right. i think the gars are wore out . any ideas?

 

What exactly are you chasing and what all have you done? The transmission out of my '87 T/A went well over 140,000 miles with lots of abuse untill I got tired of waiting for it to break, so I went through it anyhow.

 

Like GMTech said, you should list what the tranny is or isn't doing
and list what has been done in attempt to fix it. Check out other
people's posts for tips on describing the symptoms in commonly
used terms so we can all "be on the same page". Don't be discouraged if you don't get a response right away, and feel free
to repost your topic with different wording if replies are few.

 

i have placed several diferent kinds of cleaner and fluids into the transmistion. it really likes to stick in 2nd and 3rd and slips from time to time. everything else is ok with it. no leaks or anything.
