T5 question
Well, I think I am going to swap my 700R4 for a T5 behind my 350. I know I know, I'll blow it up. Before you say that, read the rest.
What do I need to make it hold 450 crank torque and 400 hp. (I dont have that............yet.)
Also, where is a good place I can get them and how much?

Try here : G FORCE
Read the info there.
But if the tranny is in good shape, and you don't plan on high RPM neutral drops and speed shifting ( never letting off the gas when shifting ) it should be okay if it's in good shape to begin with.
The T5 often gets blamed for bad drivers. It's not the strongest tranny in the world, but having owned Muncie, Saginaw, T10 and other 4 speeds, it's not the weakest either.
Good luck.

Thanks for the info. My auto isn't really "Bad." So, I can take my time building it and do it right. I was going to get a T56, but I cant afford that yet, so it'll have to wait.
I've been told by several car people I am a excellent driver. *Shrug*
Also, this tranny will take some abuse, thats why I want stronger parts.

Car: Bright Red 91 GTA
Engine: CARBED LT4
Transmission: MK6
the torque isnt what kills them, its the shock.
the gears are pretty strong but the case isnt..
when the clutch is dumped the case twists and the mesh between gears expands causing it to break
ask tim burgess about his t-5
he launches at 6,000 off the rev limiter with nitrous on with drag radials for 1.6 60 fts. stock t-5 and rear end
he runs 11.70's on a 305 tpi
