What goes on during a "Transmission Service"?
I'm going to schedule my car to get its transmission serviced as part of its regular scheduled maintenance. Does anyone know what kind of work is done during this service? I'd like to bring in my own fluids (I'm doing this as part of a total conversion over to AMSOIL lubricants) and have the shop I'm taking it to use that, since they said I can bring in my own fluids/lubricants if I like.
Car's in the sig. Thanks for any info you can provide!

filter, fluid change,basic inspection
you know what the hell I mean
how else ya gonna change the fluid and filter....through the tailshaft????
and as for the flushing...we get to many people that come in for rebuilds after they had their tranny flushed somewhere, so many miles before, because it stirred up the sediment at the bottom of the pan and nocked loose the built up and burnt fluid in the tranny. not every time but ALOT....wish I would have invented a tranny flusher...could flush in one stall and rebuild in the next

I think if you get a tranny flush every year or two you will be OK. But if you've never even changed the fluid you are cruising for melt down of some sort
