88 iroc rear swap and identification, what do i need?
My friend had an iroc just sitting in his garage, he bough it as a parts car and is about to get rid of it, i am taking the rear and probably the rims if not more
. Anyway i know for a fact that it is posi however is there a number i should look for to determine the gear ratio, where is this number or numbers located? Im not even suire if its a 9 bolt or 10 bolt yet but i know its disc. Also i currently have a 2.73 non posi 10 bolt, what do i need from this car to make everything work, i am short on money so i cant miss anything so a parts list would be incredibly helpful. And finally is there anything else on this car that would be worth taking and putting on my own, are the front brakes any better?, sway bars better? than my sc......etc etc. Thanks and all help is greatly appreciated.

depending on ratio it could be a 10 bolt or 9 bolt, u will need to take a look at it because who knows what gear ratio it could have being a parts car and all.
check the rpo code sheet and look for the G92 option, thats one way to check if the car is all original and hasnt been messed around with.
if u dont have disk brakes on ur car now, u need his proportioning valve and most likely the parking brake cables.
the rear end it self will bolt right up.

it should be under the console lid, if not their on the inside of the rear storage comparment lid.
should say it somewhere on there.
