Wont shift into 1st gear...
Hi.
I went and looked at a firebird today. Not a bad car. The owner put a new clutch in it because it wouldnt shift into 1st gear, so they always drove it in second (probably why they needed a new clutch).
Is the transmission syncros toast? Can it be adjusted? The car is nice, but just that 1 problem. They only want 500$ for it. The clutch was 750 w/ labor.
What could it be? Toasted tranny or maybe an adjustment?(I know, I wouldnt get as lucky as JUST an adjustment
)

$500 for a decent 3gee? sounds like a good deal. what year is the car? how many miles?
you can pick up a used t5 tranny for pretty cheap.
