i had my freind rebuilt a TH350 for me, only problem is first is not working. when i put it into drive it starts in 2nd and shifts fine to 3rd, i do get reverse ok when its on level pavement but if its on a slight incline i really need to give it gas for it to move, anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?

 

TH350 handbook indicates intermediate clutch problem such as too many discs or steels behind pump. Unfortunately, the valve
body and spacer plate must be removed to see the clutches with
the tranny in the car. Your builder could have installed a V-8
clutch stack with a 6-cyl. piston (which is longer)in the pump.

 

thats for the reply, i was told also i could be the sprag is in backwards? any other help would be great
