T-56 conversion help: shifter boot
I converted to a prod t56 over two years ago, and only have the shifter boot to sort out. I bought an used shifter boot, but I can't seem to make it work. I can get it on below the shifter itself but then a lot of outside air comes in. If I put it in what seems the right location, the shifter boot sits too high for the floorboard. Is it because I cannot use a stock boot on a floorboard of an automatic car?
My question is, have I overlooked something? It's an 87 GTA originally a 350 A4 car.

Previous picture is shifter & floorboard, no boot.
This picture is of the boot on where I think it should go, except it is too high for the floorboard:

What I did was cut a big hole in the boot enuff to go around the lower part of the shifter, just make sure you make it small enuff to still have a good seal.

That looks like a third gen shifter boot. Get one for a fourth gen; the hole in the centre is a slot, not a circle.
