Wheels turn oppisite ???

Engine: LM1 350
Transmission: 700 R4
Wheels turn oppisite ???
Was in the process of putting my T/A on jackstands. Thought my parking brake was stuck and was going to fix it......anyway, as I turned the tire, I noticed that the oppisite side rotates the other way. Is this normal ?? My car is also in Park, why would the tires be able to spin if this is so ??? Is this normal or do I have a problem somewhere ?? Thanks for any input !!
