My 92 camaro 6cyl 5speed automatic is having some problems. It seems as though it's shifting up and down gears about every second or so especially at a certain rpm. It's weird and I don't really know how to explain it. If I'm just driving it usually will happen around a certain rpm (generally the ones the car travels at the most) But it will just start revving up and then suddenly drop down to lugging (when it's the most extreme) and just keep bouncing between the two of them. There's no middle just bouncing between revved really high and lugging. When I am stopped and beginning to accelerate it makes the car lurch a little because of it (like I said it's not really bad YET but it started out small the first time also). I've taken it to a few mechanics but no one around here knows ANYTHING about cars I guess.

I know NOTHING about mechanics so any help is REALLY appreciated.
