This guy i know has a second gen camaro an 81. He is selling it for 3000 maybe less. It has a 350 out of a 91 camaro but a slipping 700r4 tranny. Do u think this is a good deal. How fast do u think this thing would move? And can i put just a 700r4 from any third gen back in the place or should i get a b&m street/strip tranny?

RB is right -> see sig

Actually it's a nice car, but very heavy. So it chews up trannies & spits them out...I've killed (3) TH-350...It really needs a built unit. The rear end is very stong! So there's no worry there, unless you start getting up there in the torque. I'm willing to bet it can handle close 550FP...

Things to note is the odometer only has 6 digits, and 1 on them is for tenth of a mile, so don't get fool in believing it's never been turned over once, maybe even twice...Mine is sitting at 169 thousand Get a carfax...

Get a transgo, a B&M kit droped a driveshaft in my '81...not cool at all. Hell I would rather run stock, than a B&M...

yea, I love my '81... I would never sale.

BTW: It was the last year of the big body so there's a little added value, if it's in really good shape.

Ron
