what kind of paint should I use to paint my rear end. I finished getting all the rust off of my used (new to me rear). Should I prime it then paint it. OR Rust proof it then prime then paint???? Like High Temp Engine spray bottle stuff OR................ ?????
I want to get this thing in within the next week or two... any help is appreciated. I would like to keep the color black nothing funky.

I had mine powder-coated (metallic charcoal - like you say, nothing funky or radical). I got it done after I had the axle tubes welded up and LCA lowering brackets installed. But it was a barenaked housing; no gears, bearings, brakes (I had the backing plates done separately), etc.
If yours is still assembled, I'd suggest zinc chromate marine primer, and flat black marine engine paint.
