Ever since I got my rebuilt trans back in the car--when ever I shift from park to o/d (or drive--or from nuetral to) I geta wicked sounding, fairly loud clunk.

Comes from the front of the car. The rear axle fluid was changed and new U-joints installed.

Also--when slowing down to a stop--at about 5km/h, I hear a little clink sound--not as loud as the clunk.


Any ideas?

my car does all the same things, i've been told not to worry until she blows. alotough my tranny is the orginal one and as 90k on it. the little clunk when slowing down is my car shifting from what ever gear i'm in to 1st, the loud clunk will only happen if i'm on the highway and i let off and get back on the gas. i dunno whats that one from.
but i figured i'd write this jus to tell ya ur not the only one.

 

hmm...I don't get any clunks at highway speeds...
Just park to a forward gear (and the same slowing down thing you have to)

 

i get that clunk going into any gear. from park to drive or drive to reverse or p[ark to reverse. i get it them al. i dunno but if you find out let me know thanks.

 

did you check the torque arm mount at the trans?
