?s for Pro Built Automatics
hey, im rebuilding my auto tranny for the second time around... the first time i just ripped it apart.... threw the clutches in and as many seals/o rings i could get to....
i have a few ?s for you if you could help...
1) on the input shaft for the converter behind the pump there are 4 paper (im guessing) sealing rings on the lower part of the shaft... how can you get teh new ones on withouth stretching them?
2) the front pump... whats involved in "rebuilding" it? all the springs are ok and not broken... i had it apart earlier cleaned it up and put it back together....
3) do you have any diagrams of the clutch pack order.... i saw a few in a atp tranny book once... but i dont know if i can get my hands on that?

Get an ATSG book, on your transmission. As for the sealing rings, go to a shop and have the new ones installed. Make sure that the groove where the "rings" ride in are in excellent shape (no contact with the stator support). If you go with the ATSG book and the right parts, you can have a successful rebuild. I would advise however, that you have someone who is familiar with the 700R4's help you out on this.
