chance that i burned a few clutches?

another post about my 700r4 in my 86 bird(v8)... here goes...I was driving on the highway and my front seal decided to push out and i puked out all of my tranny fluid, but i pulled over as fast and as safely as i could(car only ran about 2 minutes after fluid puked out) what are the chances that i toasted a few clutches? because im replacing the seal this monday and i just wanna see if you guys think i might need to get the damn thing rebuilt...has about 100k on it

The best thing to do is change the seal and fill it with fluid and drive it to see what happens. I would bet that it is ok.

Changing the seal without installing a new bushing, might not solve this. The leak could come back quickly if there is too much clearance btween the TC & bushing. If you replace the bushing use the teflon.
