transmission works good until WOT... why?

I think it may be the TV cable.

heres the deal. went from 305 to 350. I am using an aftermarket TV cable, so dont tell me to push the button and floor it, it doesnt work that way.

Heres how i adjusted it: Floored the gas pedal, and pulled TV cable out all the way, and set it right there, so full throttle correspondes with full detent.

Problem is, now at part throttle the shifts are a little weak, and at full throttle its fine until it trys to shift. when the tranny goes to shift, it just slips and the RPM sky rocket.

this transmission was shifting smooth and solid before the engine swap, so its not the tranny being old and worn out, somthing, possible the TV cable, is out of adjustment.

Is there a vacuum line I am missing? is there somthing else I am missing? this slippage occurs even when manually shifted.

Oh, and lockup i cant get it to work! I tried giving the tan whire ground, and either one of the other 2 wires 12v and it still wont lockup. i will check the plugin tommarow.

I hold the D button and pulled the throttle open all the way w/ my pointer finger...seemed to fix my shifting/rpm prob..

now I think its just my clutch packs1-2 & 2-3...ran her once w/ o tranny fluid...bad leak.

try w/ finger... I noticed none of the tv cable adjusting "how tos" give enough details...

If you adjusted it to have max TV with max throttle?, then it is adjusted ok. Your problem sounds like the old engine had no power as compared to the new one. This happens, especially with miles on them, and their being not rated for the higher horsepower and torque. Recheck the TV adjustment at WOT to make sure it is on the tight side.

woooo it was a very stupid problem. the aftermarket cable has this screw on adjustment thingy that goes onto the bracket, and it was slipping sideways during WOT. i put some washers on either side of it, tightend it up, and now its fine. for now.

we will see how long a stock 700R4 with 110,000 miles holds up behind my new 355.
