Beefing up a TH700R4 to take more torque?

I have a TH700R4 in an '85 IROC and will be boosting the power considerably with a 383 stroker. I know a stock TH700 isn't going to handle the torque, but I'd like to keep the OD so I can run lower gears in the rear and still cruise the highway. This isn't drag strip only machine, or even drag often, it's mostly a cruiser. So my question, what will it take to get this TH700R4 to handle a healthy TPI 383? Would I better off just buying an aftermarket unit and toss this one?

Thanks

David

Thanks for the link. They don't really say how much power you can expect to be able to put though the tranny after doing a rebuild with their parts, but I guess street/strip is a good enough indication. Do you know what kind of instructions come with the kit. Is this something a decent backyard mechanic can do or will I need to hire a transmission professional? Besides providing a complete list if parts in the kits the website isn't exactly informative.
