hey mods u think i can get a few replies before u lock this? its for my friends probe, its a 5 speed that wont go in reverse but all others work perfect. i dont know anything about manuals and he cant find any probe tech web forums (go figure )

what should i check? shifter cable? or is the reverse gear itself most likely blown? any info would be greatly appreciated

either gear or synchronizer is gone, rule out linkage if is external linkage type tranny by putitng car on lift and looking around, i had a dodge omni that i had to rig linkage for tranny with coat hanger,. so..

it worked though

try search for ford sites on yahoo and google search engines
