Anyone Using SLP 2400 Convertor?
Anyone Using SLP 2400 Convertor?
I am deciding on a convertor upgrade soon.
This is for my 88 L98 with auto (rebuilt already with shift kit).
I am finished with engine mods so now is the time to decide. Aftermarket lower intake and runners, stock heads and cam. I have upgraded valve springs and 1.6 RR's.
I tried a Vig 2800 stall last year and yes it is streetable but I think it misses out on too much of a basically stock L98's power band.
I recently got a pair of ET Streets and can hook at the track so traction is not an issue. I'm thinking the 2400 would be about right for my combo.

I have the SLP (2400 stall) torque convertor with a mild 350 and it is a good upgrade and very streetable. Also the price was not to bad and I forgot which company makes them SLP.

I believe Yank makes the SLP converters.
I am also planning on buying one of these converters until I have the money for a smaller diameter one.

I think I'll give one a try also. Who has the cheapest price on one? Summit doesn't carry SLP anymore.
Me and my friends have ran 12's with this conveter for years. The SLP converter has always been a very good converter for the money. I bought the one I ran from Summit for under $250 including the shipping. Was alot cheaper than getting it through SLP direct but I believe Summit stopped carrying SLP products.
