thm200C shifter cable to th350, howcome it doesnt work ?

ok 350 and th350 are in the 82 but the original stock thm200c cable bracket wont line up with both holes in tranny pan

was told in B&M instructions that they do line up, but that is very false

what is going on ?
who has experienced what in the past with 200C to 350 conversion ?

thanks

TH350's use their own cable, and it is for automatic downshifting only.

yup that's the one. the shifter cable not the tv/detent cable.

the 700 cable wouldn't work of course. would the 200c cable work for the 350 tranny that he has in there now?

sorry i didn't want to start another thread and waste space. this seemed to be on the same track as with the problems he's having in his 82'.

Maybe the bracket for a late '70's Camaro with floor shifter and
a TH350 would work. See your friendly GM parts guy.

maybe, but i doubt the shifter assembly end of the cable would work. i had all that 80-older shifter stuff from a junk camaro but i tossed it all already, hmm..

new problem,..

700r4 cables do work for th350 except that the D without circle would be your new L2 instead of 3rd final
the D with circle would be your new 1:1 ratio 3rd location

what the deal is with the 200c bracket on the th350 pan is that the bracket can only line up with the farthest forward bolt hole or with the next behind it towards tail of tranny, but that changes cable tension and affects location of ranges on the shifter assembly, i had to pull it all back a little extra and make it line up with next hole back but it falls short of the hole at front at the corner of pan, thought that would cause lack of ability of getting into park but it seems to go into park, i guess i wont know anymore til i get car running and driving. the front most end of the bracket stops right at rear most edge of the pan bolt hole at the front corner of the oan, but some of the head o that bolt does hold that end of the bracket down

anyone thats done thm200C to th350 swap needs to see this thread.. B&M instructions for the th35 tail brackets say that there is no problem with 200C cable for th350, i have found otherwise though
