Electrical Transmission Temp Guage info needed

First of all...I've done a search...and didn't find exaclty what I'm looking for. Anyhow....I'm wanting to install an Electrical Trannsmission Temp guage (autometer).....and I have NO idea of how to do this. I'm not a mechanic AT ALL....and was wondering if I'm capable of doing this. I've hooked up an "air/fuel" guage...and it went in with no problems. If I decide to hook up a transmission temp guage...what do I have to do? People have said the easiest way is to hook it into the transmission cooler lines.....where are they located? Will I need any fittings?? Any help or info would be greatly appreciated....I haven't bought anything yet...I just want to make sure that I can do this without screwing anything up.....Thanks guys
